Considerado o país mais estável e próspero da África subsariana, o Quénia vive momentos de violência, desencadeada após o anúncio da reeleição do presidente do país.
Várias vozes se erguem alertando para as semelhanças entre os confrontos destes últimos dias e o Genocídio de Ruanda em 1994.
Talvez seja importante também sublinhar as plavras de Kofi Annan, há sete anos atrás:
